Promotion of reproductive health among youth through resource
mobilization and partnership

Objective(s) Youth knowledge of their reproductive health and high risk
sexual behavior is low and danger of this problem is threatened their life. This
project conducted to promotion of reproductive health among youth through
resource mobilization & partnership.
Design and method A health campaign
has been considered to improve youth health through motivating them to find
their actual reproductive health needs and access their solution, so an
operational study has conducted in 4 steps:

assessing the knowledge, attitude
and behaviour of the youth regarding reproductive health;

RH needs assessment
through different qualitative research methods;

implementing a
multidisciplinary approach based on the result of needs assessment,
-
evaluating
the effectiveness of this multidisciplinary approach to promotion of their RH
awareness, attitude and behaviour.
This approach concentrated on: advocacy and
community mobilization; financing and resource allocation; capacity building;
network formation and partnerships; multicultural engagement; youth empowerment.
Results According to FGD results, the most important topics that concern about
them were: interpersonal communications, life skills, the majority risk
behaviours, problem solving, healthy nutrition, and physical activity motivation,
etc.
Conclusion Empowering the community through capacity building and
partnership are the most effective methods for promotion of reproductive health
among youth.
