Objectives Reproduction is
one of the goals that human live for it and disability in having child is
designed as a crisis in infertile couple life. Now, adoption can be a different
method in cure infertility and resolve their emotional difficulties. Because of
this we studied influence of adoption in psychical health situation in infertile
couple from June to September 2000 in Aran-Bidgol city.
Design and method In
this analytic study, 100 infertile couple (100 men &100 women) was selected:
50 infertile couple without adopted-child (control group) and 50 infertile
couple with an adopted-child (case group) that sampled as random and Poason
methods. Demographic data collected by questionnaire and psychical health
measured by CHQ-28 test. All subjects (females and their spouses) were
separately interviewed in a privacy environment.
Results There was a
significant difference between the psychical health and the mean of age in two
groups and there wasn’t significant difference in other criteria. The highest
score of psychical health was seen in men with an adopted child and the lowest
score belonged to infertile females without adopted child.
Conclusion Adoption
can have a positive influence in psychical health situation. If we establish
special clinic for help to infertile couple and solve their problems they will
have a normal family and a normal psychical health situation.
